Fortress Sieges and Realm goodies.

Quickie post, going out for Dim sum soon.
Posi and I tried to muck about in a fortress siege yesterday night. We had some fun duoing, running in and out of a choke point AE spamming for Abyss points and xp. Overall we ended up with 44 kills while hiding in the zerg.
Asmo's captured their first fortress, from the Elyos faction no less. We seemed to have the DPS power on the boss this time and should have no problem storming the next Elyos fortress. Although hitting the Balaur fort could be tough since its a three way fight at that point.
The fortresses are laid out quite differently then in Warhammer. Since were not limited by air movement Fortresses have been designed to have basement levels which house the Fortress lord.
Fortresses have the regular Door that has to be broken down, but if you get past the door and into the ground level of the keep you can shut off the power generator. The generator killed players trying to fly into the fortress, so you can get reinforcements in much quicker once the generator is dead.
Once the NPC's and players on the ground floor are taken care of there is a single passage way into the basement with a few rooms along the way. The most important room to take note of is the Fortress artifact room, this supplies the controlling realm with massive buffs when the guild that controls the fort activates it. (The one I came into contact with gave a 5000 pt shield to all realm members in the area for 30 seconds, put into perspective I have 3700 hp.)
The attacking realm can then shut the artifact off and go further into the fortress to take out the fortress lord. The fortress lords look like some of the greatest NPC's I have ever seen.
After killing the lord the fortress flips sides, any participating member gets a bit of Abyss points and some money in the mail. (I got 3.5k then 4.7k this morning.) We also found out how morphing can improve. There are vendors in the forts that provide morphing recipies. Very very nice realm wide bonuses so far for capturing fortresses.
